Mission & Values
ASH’s mission is to provide an unequaled dance experience that challenges dancers as artists and inspires them to be the best they can be in both dance and life.
We Value diversity, equity, equality, and inclusion. ASH provides opportunities for diverse artistic expression for its attendees, staff, crew, and faculty. On the threshold of our 11th season, we pause to reflect and renew our spirits for what lies ahead. Our stability and energy come from reaffirming who we are as a community of artists, and as a company devoted to equity and excellence. ASH will provide safe and inclusive spaces for people of every ethnicity, race, religion, gender, sexual identity, and sexual orientation. At ASH, our faculty, staff, crew, and attendees will experience our core values of inclusivity, diversity, and equality. We want everyone to feel embraced with connection, equity, respect, and warmth, and will continue to stand up against injustices and foster an environment of inclusivity allowing art to be the great equalizer.
We Value honesty, transparency, and integrity. We conduct ourselves professionally through fair, honest, and ethical behavior. We have the courage to do what is right, even in the face of adversity.
We Value trust. We are people of character. We keep our word and honor our commitments.
We Value Leadership and service. We serve as positive role models and foster an environment that supports a balance between professional development, professional job performance, and personal wellness.

OUR ONGOING COMMITMENT
ASH operates with a set of core beliefs that guide every decision we make when interacting with one another and our attendees. We believe that the intentional transparency below will not only communicate our straightforward policies and best practices, but that we will be revealed to our clients as the organization we profess to be so that we may be held accountable to you and to one another as we continue to provide not only incredible dance education, but also life lessons and leadership by example.
- All ASH Faculty have undergone a background screening conducted by Universal Background Screening (Accredited PBSA).
- All ASH Faculty will undergo a re-screening every 5 calendar years.
- All ASH Employees and Contractors have completed independently adminstered training, “Creating a Culture of Respect and Trust in the Workplace”, by Awakening Consulting, LLC.
Trust & Credibility
The success of ASH is dependent on the trust and confidence we earn from our employees, contractors, and attendees. We gain credibility by adhering to our commitments, displaying honesty and integrity and reaching organization goals solely through honorable conduct. It is easy to say what we must do, but the proof is in our actions. Ultimately, we will be judged on what we do.
Professional Standards & Ethical Behavior
All ASH employees and contractors are expected to support an inclusive, safe, and positive workplace and event by demonstrating and maintaining Professional Standards and Ethical Behavior.
Embrace Transparency & Take Action
We believe that transparency is the antidote to hipocrisy. In a small business, just like our clients, transparency helps us stay honest with one another. And prevention starts now. Only we have the ability to hold each other accountable right from the start. When something has happened and we are made aware, we have a duty to investigate all matters in a manner which respects all individuals, and a responsibility to find the truth.
