ASH Assistant Audition Fees


General Information

  • Dancers who have received ASH Apprentice or Apprentice Runner Up during the 21/22 regional tour season will have the opportunity to audition at Nationals to become an ASH Assistant the following tour season. The ASH Assistant Audition fee includes the ASH Assistant Audition (ballet, contemporary and hip hop combinations), solo performance, choreography for the Closing Number, a personalized ASH Apprentice/Runner Up jacket and a Complimentary Gala Ticket for the Dancer. This ticket is non-transferrable.
  • Dancers will audition with a solo performance that is separate from the Open Competition. Dancers will bring a solo to be scored by the ASH Faculty. No critiques or awards will be given for this solo, it is a part of the ASH Assistant Audition. This will be performed on the ASH stage, costumes and makeup are encouraged but not required. ASH will livestream the performance showcase at The video wall located in the lobby will also be broadcasting the Performance Showcase. Friends and family can watch from home, and attendees will be able to watch from anywhere at the venue!
  • Next, will be the combination audition process. Dancers will learn combinations from the ASH Faculty in Ballet, Contemporary and Hip Hop. Once they learn all combinations, they will audition in front of the ASH Faculty. (Bring clothes and shoes for ALL styles!). This audition is closed, no teachers or parents will be allowed in the room and this portion will not be broadcast.
  • All ASH Assistants for the next season will be announced at the Gala on the last night of Nationals!
  • All dancers registered for the ASH Assistant Audition will participate in the Closing Number of the ASH Gala. Dancers will have rehearsals with the ASH Faculty throughout the week.
  • All dancers registered for the ASH Assistant Audition will receive a personalized Jacket and a complimentary Gala ticket for the registered dancer only. This ticket is non-transferrable.

Assistant Commitments


  • ASH Assistants must attend a minimum of ten regional cities (Ages 11 & Up) and six regional cities (Ages 7-10) including Orlando regionals, and must attend the Nationals in Orlando, FL.
  • Assistants will learn one group piece at the first regional city (Orlando, FL) for the Welcome Show. In select cities ASH Assistants may be asked to perform a solo in the closing show. ASH events include additional classes that are held on Friday evenings. ASH Assistant rehearsal will be held Thursday night, Friday morning/afternoon or Saturday morning.



  • ASH Assistants must stay with the studio they received their title with, if you change/ leave the studio, you will lose you ASH Assistant title.
  • Perform in Welcome and Closing Shows, assist faculty in all classes in your assigned level unless asked to assist in another level, assist at scholarship auditions, attend rehearsals, attend seminars, participate in backstage duties for Performance Showcase, if your studio is not in attendance, and always arrive early.
  • As part of their professional training, ASH Assistants will be required to work backstage during the Performance Showcase. It is expected that ASH Assistants will maintain a clean and put-together appearance, a clean and orderly space backstage, and a positive attitude toward all participants. Dress code for showcase is pants and a top or a long dress only! No skirts, shorts, or short dresses are allowed. ASH Assistants are not permitted to use their phone during work time. This is to devote the attention needed to all Showcase participants, safety of backstage, and to continue setting a positive example for all attendees to follow.



  • Assistants under the age of 18 must be accompanied to each event by a parent or designated guardian. Should an ASH Assistant request to be accompanied by anyone other than the signed parent or guardian below, notification must be given to and approved by the Convention Manager prior to the start of the event. ASH Productions shall not act as a guardian and is not responsible for the well-being of any ASH Assistant.


ASH accepts Visa, Master Card, Discover, American Express, checks or money orders. Checks or money orders must be postmarked before the Early Bird Discount Deadline in order to secure the Early Bird rate. If a check is returned, you will be assessed a $30.00 fee. Only cash and credit cards are accepted when registering at the door or paying a final balance upon check-in at Registration. *All funds must be paid in U.S. currency only. No International, Canadian or Foreign checks will be accepted.

Refund Policy for 2021/2022 Season

Unless ASH is forced to cancel due to Acts of God, CDC, local, state, or federal government mandates, ASH will not provide a refund under any circumstance. If the event is held and a dancer cannot attend due to injury or illness, you must contact the ASH Office at least 24 hours prior to the start of the event. ASH will issue a credit statement to be used up to one year from the date of issue for convention and/or performance showcase fees provided the dancer submits a doctor’s note within 30 days via email to
