DJ Smart


DJ Smart has been described as one of the most versatile and gifted dancers of his generation, and possibly one of the most brilliant artists in the world. He has rapidly become a highly recognized performer, choreographer and teacher in all facets of the industry.

Mr. Smart is a graduate with honors from the University of the Arts where he received his BFA in Ballet Performance, and was the recipient of the prestigious "Stella Moore Prize" and the "Outstanding In All Styles" award. He has acquired an endless number of accolades and recognition including: 2006 NAACP ACT-SO National Dance Gold Medalist, 2007 YoungArts winner in Jazz Dance, Capezio Athlete, 2013 "Got Dance LA Spotlight Recipient", 2013 Edge Magazine "Person of the Week", and an "Emerging Artist Award" from Opera Noir.

He has made countless guest appearances and has been able to perform, teach and choreograph all over the USA and in over 20 countries internationally. His credits include: Jessie J, The Jacksons, Lifetime's Raising Asia, Disney's Best Friends Whenever, Latin American Music Awards, America's Got Talent, Billboard Awards, Dance Moms, Momix Dance Company, Freelusion, Oklahoma!, Twenty One Pilots, Stevie B, Cher, Becky G, Koresh Dance Company, and the Step Up Revolution Fitness DVD. Most notably, he was a special guest performer on the hit TV series "So You Think You Can Dance" and "So You Think You Can Dance Ukraine".

He has received remarkable reviews for his performances and choreography, and has been featured in magazines and newspapers such as Dance Spirit, Laredo Morning Times, Detroit Free Press, SET magazine, EDGE magazine, Philadelphia Inquirer, LA Times, Houston Chronicle, Off Off Off Dance and Baltimore Sun. Mr. Smart continues to be a vessel and a voice for those who have a similar dream but lack the means to bring it to fruition. He is frequently involved in charity work and public speaking on behalf of the arts. He continues traveling the world as a performer, teacher, choreographer, humanitarian and ambassador for the arts.
